The Record

Every pick. Every result.

This page is computed from the picks table when it loads. Each play Dom releases is logged with its date, sport, selection and units, graded when the game goes final, and the totals add themselves up. There is no field anywhere to type a record into.

Grading starts with the first play. Every pick from launch forward is logged and graded here, wins and losses alike, and the numbers on this board are computed from that log.

Grading starts with the first play

Every pick from the day this site opens is logged and graded here, wins, losses and pushes alike, split by sport and by month with the full pick-by-pick log underneath. Until then, the free pick is the place to see a real play.

A unit is your standard bet size; many members use $100. Net units use the price taken, so a −110 winner adds 0.91 and a +150 winner adds 1.5. Ready for the next card? Choose a package.

How is the record calculated?

+
Every pick is logged with its date, sport, selection and unit size, then graded win, loss or push. Win percentage counts decided plays only (pushes are shown but excluded from the percentage). Net units use the actual price taken, so a −110 winner adds 0.91 units and a +150 winner adds 1.5.

What is a unit?

+
Your standard bet size. Many members use $100. When the Gazette says 2 units on a side, a $100-unit player bets $200; a $25-unit player bets $50. Units make the record comparable for every bankroll, and the net-units column is the honest measure of profit.

Why are only graded picks shown?

+
Picks go to members by email first. A pending pick on a public page would be a free pick, and members pay for the morning delivery. Once a game is final the play is graded and appears here, win or lose.

Can a losing pick be removed?

+
No. The admin screen that logs picks has a grade control and nothing else that affects this page. Deleting a pick would change the record and is treated as an error, not an edit.

Why do contrarian sports picks work?

+
Legal betting brought a flood of recreational money, and that money moves lines away from the true number: favorites get overpriced, overs get bid up. Dom plays the other side of that flow when the price is wrong, and sizes each play in units so a $50 bettor and a $500 bettor follow the same plan.
